Birds and Animals

Ron Ukrainetz, my husband, is a bird rehabilitator and an expert in the rendering of all types of birds! His studies have interested me for twenty years and I love to use his reference for my batiks. We collaborate on a Christmas card each year and the majority are from his bird studies. Birds translate well into batiks.

I also create animals in batik, I find them challenging and rewarding. I especially enjoy doing pieces with dramatic light, and vibrant color contrasts.
